2022 Easter Eats!!!!
#1
What you all got on the menu for Easter?!
What other plans you got for the extended weekend?!

For eats we are gonna go with the pan to oven rosemary filet mignons, oven cheesy taters, maybe some broccoli salad or something similar.  Crab legs?!? Not sure about dessert just yet.

We are scheduled to give out Communion at Mass, Church is STARTING to get back to normal this weekend.  We bring back the Cups this weekend.  Since Covid we have only been able to receive.Jesus in "bread" form.  Will be interesting to see how many folks are willing to drink out of a common cup after many wearing masks just 6 months ago.  Much of my family has been fractured over the past 2 years.  I'm looking forward to time with my wife and kids.  Good food, board games, and love.

I bet 70% of my colds the past 8 years were from being a Eucharistic minister and having to finish the wine at the end. My wife wife can't drink wine, so if both of us were doing it, I ended up having to finish 2 cups.

I often get called on by other EMs to help them finish the Precious Blood. I always figured I need as much Jesus as I can get lol. I think many people won't even visit the cup. Our Church normally has 8 cup ministers, they are bringing back 4 stations. Further, they have written into the procedures that ministers no longer have to finish the cup if they are not comfortable. I'm guessing they will use the sacrarium sink as a remedy. Thanks for sharing Mike, are you still doing EM? Our Church has lost a LOT of people who left during Covid and never came back Sad we are short on altar servers too.

Not doing it right now, since there really isn't a need (not doing blood yet here). Attendance numbers have been going up, but nothing like it was before.

I'm still trying to figure out Easter eats. I'm thinking maybe steaks, too. My oldest daughter will be here this year, so that takes lamb out of the possible menu.

You getting her an Easter basket for old times sake! Even though our kids are all teeny bopers we still give them candy. One kid likes peeps, another chocolate, the other two are sour patch gummies folks. I get my wife a york peppermint patty bunny. I'm thinking we may all watch the Passion movie this year?? Bourbon basket for me Smile

Both daughters (24 and 21) and their boyfriends are getting baskets. When my wife and I were in the liquor store, she came up with the idea of an Easter egg hunt for them using mini bottles. So, that's happening Saturday, then watching the Ten Commandments.

We're going to different sides of the family on Sat/Sun. I know ham is involved but not much else. We're taking 2# of cooked shrimp for appetizers on Sunday and smoked queso both days. We have about an hour left of the Ten Commandments we started last weekend. Don't know if that will get finished

That mini bottle idea is killer.  I need to figure out a way to use that idea someday!!!

I ate too much. The filet mignon rosemary pan to oven filets were once again a hit. I topped them with buttered crab. Broccoli salad and taters were solid. I bought some of those frozen yeast rolls that you sit on counter for 5 hours to rise. Never made them before. Family mowed thru 27 of them!! I'm making more today Smile
