Dr. Jennifer Lighter, a pediatric infectious disease specialist at NYU Langone Health, said the delta variant, while it is "certainly more contagious," doesn't appear to be more dangerous to children than other variants. As of Thursday, more than 4 million children had been diagnosed with Covid-19, about 14.2 percent of all cases, according to the AAP. Versalovic also said, "We have no firm evidence that the disease severity in children and adolescents is any different with the delta variant."

People at considerable risk of developing severe Covid-19, including millions of Americans with compromised immune systems, now have the option of receiving a preventive monoclonal antibody treatment if they have been or are at risk of being exposed to the coronavirus.
The Food and Drug Administration’s action on Friday brings hope to the estimated 3 percent of Americans who are immunocompromised, including those with autoimmune diseases, HIV patients, cancer patients and organ transplant recipients, who may still be vulnerable to Covid even after being fully vaccinated.

South Korea has confirmed the arrival in the country of the new Delta Plus COVID-19 variant, which some experts believe may be more dangerous than the original Delta strain driving surges across the globe.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said Tuesday that it has recorded two cases of the Delta Plus variant.

That’s a pretty good summary of the past year and a half. I have no problem understanding why people wouldn’t want to go get a shot just because CNN/The White House tells them to. I have no problem understanding that this is exactly *why* some would be thinking hard about whether to get the shot.
And now you’ve got prominent democrats openly hoping that people can still die of COVID after getting vaccinated. Why on earth would anybody put stock into what these people say?
