Fecking Snowwwwwww - Mexas Joe - 01-11-2021

No power at home since last afternoon.

Tankless hot water is great till the power goes out.  Looks like tonight I'll be running a Genny.

Any news on when they think power will return? Is weather forecast better for next few days? Good thing you got a generator, is it a whole house or does it just run a percentage of your house?

Just selected areas as well as the heat.

When we lived in Kentucky any snow or ice, or the threat of it, would shut everything down except for Wildcat games!

J/K - that's gotta suck in areas where it's not normal. Hope things come back soon. I assume your generator isn't permanently on a transfer switch. If your tankless heater is on a 240, which I imagine it has to be, just be careful. Or is it gas and you just need electricity for the control?

Natural Gas FTW!

Power's back on thankfully.

I've got gas heat but an electric furnace so when the power geos out it doesn't work.
But, that's when it's time to use the fireplace.

Similar here. The fan runs on electricity, anyways, and so did the controller. So I just have it pigtailed. More interesting was when we had those windy days over the summer and lost power, I had a slightly questionable setup to power the well pump (240v) from the generator.
