Fecking Snowwwwwww - Mexas Joe - 01-11-2021 No power at home since last afternoon. Tankless hot water is great till the power goes out. Looks like tonight I'll be running a Genny. RE: Fecking Snowwwwwww - Augie91 - 01-11-2021 Any news on when they think power will return? Is weather forecast better for next few days? Good thing you got a generator, is it a whole house or does it just run a percentage of your house? RE: Fecking Snowwwwwww - Mexas Joe - 01-11-2021 Just selected areas as well as the heat. RE: Fecking Snowwwwwww - Augie91 - 01-11-2021 When we lived in Kentucky any snow or ice, or the threat of it, would shut everything down except for Wildcat games! RE: Fecking Snowwwwwww - Trub Lou - 01-11-2021 (!) ![]() J/K - that's gotta suck in areas where it's not normal. Hope things come back soon. I assume your generator isn't permanently on a transfer switch. If your tankless heater is on a 240, which I imagine it has to be, just be careful. Or is it gas and you just need electricity for the control? RE: Fecking Snowwwwwww - Mexas Joe - 01-11-2021 Natural Gas FTW! Power's back on thankfully. RE: Fecking Snowwwwwww - dave - 01-11-2021 I've got gas heat but an electric furnace so when the power geos out it doesn't work. But, that's when it's time to use the fireplace. RE: Fecking Snowwwwwww - Trub Lou - 01-11-2021 Similar here. The fan runs on electricity, anyways, and so did the controller. So I just have it pigtailed. More interesting was when we had those windy days over the summer and lost power, I had a slightly questionable setup to power the well pump (240v) from the generator. |
