Well I guess I'll be baking a turkey today
#1
I was planning on smoking this bird.  Have it all ready to go in the beer/malt brine that has worked out so well in the past.  Was setting up the smoker and grabbed my bag of charcoal.  Uh oh.... only like 2 pounds left in there.  Nothing's going to be open today, so I basically don't have enough charcoal to cook this thing, and I suppose it'll go in the oven after maybe getting some quick smoke onto it with what I've got.  I have some other options lying around that could potentially work - a pile of pressure treated pine scraps, a bag of kingsford, some used motor oil... but at this point I think I've gotta just cut my losses and go to a plan B.

Hope everybody else's Thanksgiving is starting out better than mine!

Where did the Kingsford come from?

The depths of hell.

I needed to grill at a public park last summer, so it was left over from that. Forgot to throw it away.

Lol. We did crab legs, filet mignon, and all the other common Thanksgiving stuffs. Only do a Turkey every 5 years or so.

Ham is great, but smoked turkey is the acceptable way to eat eat it as sandwiches. And they're great drowned in mayo, which isn't really true with ham.

My wife's employer gave everybody a half spiral sliced honey ham. I'm trying to figure out when I'm gonna. Heat that bad boy up. Been hungry for free ham lately!

Might have to turn leftovers into ham biscuits!!
