My Google news feed (just the default on my phone) has an article entitled "The world's richest men increased their fortunes during the pandemic while many struggled to make ends meet." The implication is that they somehow were taking money that should have gone to the less useful/productive. Not even an inkling of the truth in the headline or article, which is that men like Jeff Bezos put the world in a place where it could largely coast through an event that, 30 years ago, would have torn the planet apart. And they took a tiny tiny piece of the benefit that they brought to the world.
But no, let's demonize them rather than thank them, because jealousy is a stronger emotion for generating clicks than gratitude is.
