With the sunsetting of Gear VR, and all my kids being in the Apple ecosystem for their iPons, it may just be time to bite the bullet and switch to iPhone.
Only problem is that Verizon doesn't seem to have shit for bundled discounts right now. Normally, if I look around a bit, I can find hardware for half price and not have to mess with "upgrading" to whatever the new silly trending plan is. I'm fine with my 8gb a month that supports tethering and I don't want to rock that boat and get committed to more monthly charges for crap I won't use.
So, I don't know.... Are the "budget" carriers like T-Mobile and Republic and such any good? I feel like I looked at Visible a couple of years ago and they couldn't figure out how to onboard new users without making it a complete headache. I'd be happy to stick with Verizon if I could hold onto the data plan I've got and find two phones for less that 500 apiece or so, but the only way they get close is if I sign on to 'unlimited' for another $50 a month and trade in an old device (no thanks!) or other nonsense.
