Kevin Hart at Arena
#1
Wife wanted to see Kevin Hart at Bridgestone in Nashville. I am "a little Kevin Hart goes a long way" kind of guy. His schtick is not so much my style of comedy. Plus stand up comedy in a hockey arena? At rock concert ticket prices. No thanks. I tried to beg off, but got talked into giving it a try.

Oh my. I was bored. I hope that is the last time I go through one of those shows.

Side note. It was a "no cell phones allowed' show. You put your cell phone in a purse that is locked. You can't use your phone. It gets unlocked after the show. I enjoyed that. Makes for a much more enjoyable show.

Like, they have purses for everyone in the arena?

Kevin Hart is funny in situational comedy. Not sure about standup.

We love watching his movies, with those and standup he's gotta be bringing in some serious dough.  Last comedian we saw live was Bill Cosby lol.  There's a fella with stage name Donnie Baker that I've been trying to see, cannot find anyone that's interested or available when he's around here.

I had to google him because I didn't know the name. Guess he's been in a couple movies I've seen.

The purses are a little larger than a big ass cell phone. You slide the phone into the purse and they snap it shut with some sort of lock mechanism. Then they give you your phone back. It is not a high security barrier. You could cut it open if you wanted. In a darkened auditorium, one cell phone turned on would flag you to everybody in the arena.

When the show is over, on the way out, they unlock the purse and you drop the purse into a bin.

It is a pretty good system. At least for those of us that can live without our phone turned off for a few hours.
