Brewing after a long hiatus
#1
It's been at least 5 years, maybe more. But I'm back at it. Made a Belgian Tripel last week. Will do another this week with different yeast in my newly constructed mash tun.  Been too long.

I guess this should be in the alcohol forum...whoops.

I got you covered. It has been almost a year for me. Just haven't been motivated.

Another batch of the same. Used the BIAB method. Outstanding. Got 83% efficiency. Way better than the old Warthog.

Isn't brewing at home illegal?

It's prolly been 10 years for me.

I've not had more than 3-4 beers since Feb. #True Story.

Did you ever do a different one, or was it literally another of the same batch.

I normally do 6 or 7 batches a year, all for the Halloween party. Not really sure yet what I'm gonna do this year.

Maybe I'll host a "peaceful protest" where we just set fire to local establishments, in order to stay on the right side of the progressives. Big Grin

Nah, just kidding. We don't really tolerate that crap here.

I did the same recipe about 10 days apart. I went with a different yeast for the second batch of Drunken Monkey, though. I used a dry Lalbrew Abbaye the second time around. Tomorrow is a Saison, next week an IPA.

So much has changed since I stopped brewing 5-6 years ago. For the better, I must say, the BIAB has increased my efficiency a ton, these new hops are fantastic, and that Kveik yeast is simply amazing. I'm definitely making the best beer I ever have!

Btw, I ordered a Tilt hydrometer. Cool gadget but pricey. Plop it into your fermenter and it gives you gravity readings and temperature. Gonna test it out within the next week.
