Less electronics and more buttons is more.
After hearing all the complaints on the blue board about various high-end/fancy washers/dryers/fridges/dishwashers not working after a year I needed a new clothes dryer.... researched the oldest and most basic design and got a cheapie at Home Depot. No motherboard, all mechanical buttons and dials....still working great after a few years.
