What Goals do you all have for 2021????
Personally I got 3 goals....
1). Travel more! I LOVES the beach and rollercoasters. For Spring Break the family is gonna hit Universal Orlando and rent a condo for Spring Break. I'm gonna pound seafood, bourbon, sunshine, and enjoy my wife in one way and my kids in another.
2). Disconnect. Mask or not mask, vaccine or no vaccine?! I'm cutting loose even more and getting away from the control and influence. I will deepen my presence here, but I'm walking away from Facebook and just separating from negativity. Flouncing today was a positive step.
3). Refocus on Jesus/Love. I slash the love cause I respect that everybody is not about religion. On these boards and in my life I'm going to expand on loving my Lord and fellow man. I'm going to work on my relationships despite all the masking and social distancing.

I've got a sailing trip booked for April to St Marten, it was rebooked from may 2020. Hope it actually happens.
We take our camper out at least 1 weekend per month and have booked TX State Parks all the way through the summer. Make a trade Wednesday and upgrading the 2018 rig to a 2021 model.
Work is busy and I've dropped 60 lbs in 2020 and have been lifting heavy in the gym and showing gains for a 45 y/o dude.
I need to get my ass to church tho. As I've said many times I really admire and with I had your Faith, Augie.

I've got some basic hobby goals. I want to rebuild the 12-foot spider web on my garage using all pixels. I want to make a gps/inertial tracker on a raspberry pi. I want to get out golfing at least 4 times, and learn five or six new songs on the guitar.
Professionally, I'm not feeling that ambitious as of late. If the new unfettered progressive administration gets its way, it just wouldn't make much sense for me to try too hard at work, as the up-side would be limited by government. But I want to at least have a better picture of where things could be in 4 years if I take another stab at a startup.

Augie, if you're a coasters guy, you need to get your ass to my old 'hood and hit up Cedar Point. It has no peer.

Guys I've struggled a lot with my faith this year. All Mass is on facebook live, there's no singing, ever body wears masks and Priests wear face shields. Covid and social distancing has driven people out of Church and onto streaming. My fear is folks won't return IF this crap ever ends. There's not cups anymore, just the Host. Everything has become has become less personal.
I've been thinking about Cedar Point!! My wife is from Cinci and we have talked about heading up there. I hear they have some killer coasters. At Universal we love all their coasters. This would be our third visit there.

I'm sure you walk the walk, and it's the doubt and revaluation that make us human. If you felt that you were doing everything perfectly by your church and your community, then that's probably when it's time to start worrying.
That said, even when I was a practicing catholic, I never went for the wine. The thought of old church lady lips just made me shudder!

Nice thing about being a Eucharistic minister is that you get to finish off the Cup. Being that I'm in need of as much Grace as possible, the more Jesus I can get the better!! I don't at all mean that in a disrespectful manner either. It is an honor to distribute Communion and belief in the Real Presence is why I converted to Catholicism. It's just the way I read John Chapter 6.

No singing? We go every other week. My daughter serves and I cantor. I can't really hear well enough to cantor, but I fake it and it works out ok. Waiting for ensembles to come back so I can sing backup. That works a whole lot better for me. I was thinking the same as you, people are going to leave the church in droves. But Christmas mass was jammed to the gills. They couldn't allow everyone in that wanted to go. Let it be. It'll work out ok.
As for goals...
Get this business out of my life
Drop the weight I've gained during covid
Drop the habit of drinking a lot in the evening that I've developed during covid
Hike a shitton
Emotionally disconnect from the day job
Develop a runway to retirement and start executing on it

Sort of a quasi-pragmatic question here - I'm not sure if your were joking, but is it significant how much of the eucharist you get? Even when I was going to catholic school, I always kind of felt like the sacrament was symbolic more than literal, but if you believe in the transubstantiation, then are you actually better off getting "more Jesus"? Hope that's not coming across as insulting.

Selling the seed business? What's next? Do you also have other work, or had the business turned into a full time commitment (i.e. is "day job" a 9-5 thing)? I have to imagine armageddon has been good for that industry.
