I live in the South and it's never appealed to me Big Grin
That said, I used to enjoy going to Talledega in my 20's and 30's to hang in the infield and drink...

When I worked in Kentucky, I had several folks I worked with that were into racing so I'd watch it too. Plus, we were close enough to Bristol that we would attend the Spring race every year. Going to the races, and listening via radio to the drivers talking was pretty cool. It's MUCH more fun to attend races versus watching them on.tv.

Nascar bent the knee to BLM with the Bubba Hoax. Feck them too. They told their entire audience they were racists.

Absolutely!
While I only cared about winning the pool amongst my friends ( I always bet on Buddy Baker), the race was really cool until I would get bored with it maybe a dozen laps in. The way the ground would shake when the pack would come around us in turn 2 at the start was crazy..you don't get that on TV.
I've been to probably 6 races in person but only watched about 30 minutes of TV Nascar in my life..

Oh the feel of that ROAR is powerful!!!! We used to sit in the concrete bleachers at Bristol, you could smell the rubber, and it would physically be all over your arms even!

I've never been to a NASCAR event. I think I've been to two Indy car races. I'd like to make it to a monster truck rally at some point.

I hear there is a big SportsBall Match this evening.

More specifically, there are nationwide parties going on this evening, and some of them may even keep a foosball game on in the background for ambiance. At best, the game just fills the dead space between the year's premier showcase of commercials.
