Gonna do my first pressurized fermentation tomorrow
#1
Entering uncharted waters tomorrow. My first attempt at a pressurized fermentation with a spunding valve and 5 gallon corny keg. I was going to wait to do this until Brewer George and I complete a deal for a 10g but what the hell!   I was gifted the spunding valve from an eBay dealer I bought a few items from. He sent me the SPUNDit out of the blue, supposed to be an excellent spunding valve, very adjustable.  Fingers crossed!

Used my inground wort chiller for today's brew.

A keg in a pool? Or a spunding valve?

Btw, the SPUNDit, comes after the chill. My first time using it. It seems to be working well. My beer should be carbonated when fermentation is complete.

Looks like it's almost done fermenting. OG was 1.072, currently at 1.014. Still bubbling at 17 psi. Maybe a point or two more.

A spunding valve allows you to carbonate while fermenting. I never really heard of them in my prior brewing days. A guy on eBay sent me his version for free. It seems like everything went well. It's finished fermenting at 1.010.

Gonna do another pressurized fermentation tomorrow. This time with a 10gallon Torpedo keg that my wife got me for Christmas. Pseudo Imperial Lager with Lutra Kveik. Edelweiss and Mandarina Bavaria hops.
