Got home from the inlaws yesterday. Now the wife is pissed because im trying to catch up on work. Im pissed that im trying to catch up on work too, but oddly we're not on the same side of this fight.

I tell you, man, I'm often crushed that the first startup experience didn't pan out, but weeks like this, when I can know that I have negligibly little stake in the success or failure of my current employer, it makes it a lot easier to truly get disconnected without the nagging obligation to make progress before the year ends/starts. That's not to say I've found a way around my *other* nagging obligations, but at least I can ignore the one that actually pays me.
Wait. I think I'm not quite doing this right yet.

I snuffed the spark of life within so that my existence is binary: work or no work. Sometimes there are conflicts, but switch only move up or down. Simplicity. I can't imagine working for someone else. Even my clients are just along for the ride most of the time. |
