I've had bees since childhood.

Down to two hives that I'm too busy/lazy to mess with. Got a local guy that stops by to rob them x1 per year. I get a couple jars of honey out of the deal.

my neighbor in AL has like 10-15 hives, they are about 200yd from my back door, he told me he started keeping them to help his gardening efforts, said it was the best thing he's ever done for it.

I plan on starting off with 3 horizantal hives. They just look easier to work.

Part of the plan is planting a small apple and pear orchard so I can stay drunk on cider until I kick the bucket.

we plan on using his bees to help start a handful of pecan trees, which I'm told are difficult to get going

I'd sting her, but I doubt one more little prick will get her attention.
