Covid Vaccine

Is the process used to develop the current vaccine(s) something that can be replicated for other variations of covid, or is it largely starting from scratch?  I guess that's a vagus question.  But similar to how they redo the flu vaccine each year, I would think that a tweak wouldn't require full scale validation or field trials before being released, right?

Takes about a month to redesign the vaccine. Since manufacturing is already in place, the transition should be instantaneous. However, regulatory barricades may still require clinical trials, which will take 6-9 months.
