I am less optimistic, but no less hopeful. I think a lull is coming. The real issue is that covid is knocking, always knocking. And someone will open that door. The vaccines are huge, but they will need updates, rapid responsiveness to deal with successful variants.
Worse, i still have this ... I wouldn't call it a fear because i crave carnage and living out my days in the death throes of the human race ... concern about COVID's ability to infect the CNS. That's a rare feature for viruses: rabies and herpes for example. The brain *can* eliminate virally infected neurons, but the process takes time. So im left wondering what happens if it re-emerges. A lip blister? Or does the brain just kinda start swelling? Might be a big nothing.
